I am looking for information on my greatgrandfather Madison Tidwell. He is shown in the 1870 Chicot County listing with my three year old grandfather Burton (actually James Burton) but no wife. Burton (my grandfather is listed in a legal document in 1888 in Hempstead County that he is an orphan). the problem is that my ggrandfather first name might not be Madison, a custom in my family is to use middle name as given name (?)..smile...Looking also for greatgrandmother Martha who also may be buried in Hempstead County. 1868-1888 time frame.
