The Hempstead County Genealogical Society still has several original loose marriage certificates on file, 1822-1952. They would really like to be able to get them to descendants of these couples. These were listed on the Hempstead County mailing list at Rootsweb in July and August of 2001 and can be seen by going to the Rootsweb archives. If you had marriages in Hempstead County and would like to have someone check the list for you, you can email <hempsteadgen@yahoo.com>
