Bob
1.This has turned into a most interesting project.
2.I have spoken to Mr Perkey who owns presently the property in question.
3.I have visited with a former owner, Mr Grooms (Western Auto Store (his Dad owned before him)) Both visits give conflicting viewpoints to what I am discovering.
4.Quite surprisingly the newspaper had a picture of a rodeo parade of some time back. Guess what is prominent above the cowboys heads. The sign for the Panama Cafe! Pictures don't lie (I would be certain it is not doctored)
In fact the paper wanted to know who some of the horseriders were. I couldn't tell by their original size picture. When they enlarged it for me, one of the riders became discernable.
5.Telephone directories show what year Panama Cafe ceased to be listed and that the last owner, Ogles, set up a new restuarant. In fact I went to high school with this persons son.
6.Am curious about your interest. What draws your interest to the Panama Cafe.
7.Let me know if any more follow up is desired. This is fun to research.
Mike
