Tina,
I just wanted to let you know how nice your website
is. My GrGrGrandparent's lived in the Harrison, Arkansas area.I think it
was Carroll Co., at one time then became
Greene Co., or visa versa? My grgrgrandfather, Maples
Long had a farm about 6 miles from Harrison. He moved
his family there in 1867 from Tennessee. My grgrandfather,
Rev. Robert H. Long, Maples son, signed up in Arkansas when he was only 16,
to serve in the Union Infantry, Civil War. Their old homeplace
(up-dated somewhat) is still standing.
There is a "Long" family cemetery on the old homeplace, Harrison,Ar..
When the family first arrived in Harrison,
they bought the land & built a family home,
a little Baptist Church & School on it also. The home,
& all the buildings were burned down during the Civil War.
I am always searching for the family on all the Arkansas
genealogy sites.
Thank you for all the work, it is nice for genealogist
to have it on line. Have a good evening...

Phyllis "Long" Rhodes
Oklahoma
