John C. PACE & wife Minnie E. (JOHNSON) PACE sold land to V.A. NANCE (or NAUCE) for $800 on 14/Nov/1906. Then on 7/Feb/1913 they again sold land of same description for $300 to John's brother, Wm J. PACE. The Warrant Deed has "wife's land" written on top.
Was NANCE a relative who died between 1906-1913 and she was an heir? Minnie & John sold "Our undivided one fifth (1/5) interest in & to Southwest Quarter of the South-West Quarter of Section Twenty-Three (23) in Township Seventeen (17) Range Six (6) East, Containing Forty (40) Acres.
Minnie's dad Gregory JOHNSON died in 1905, prob in Evening Shade, leaving 2nd wife 38yr old Jennie (BASKINS) as his widow. I know she briefly m. D.F. MATHIS, and maybe also a NANCE.
Gregory's children by 1st wife were Minnie Ettar (PACE), Hattie Fansie[m]& Presley Wm; by 2nd wife: Cornelius Wm; Flora Mae(PACE) & Johnny James - 6 kids and one too many for her "1/5 interest" , unless Cornelius is deceased, but I can find no record on him.
