Looking for information on Samuel Witherspoon Liddell, born 2/2/1834 in Alabama and died 6/7/1900 in Greene Co., Arkansas. He is buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lorado along with his wife, Margaret Jane Parker Liddell. She was born 8/10/1855 in Alabama and died 8/3/1921 in Greene Co., Arkansas. They were married 10/8/1871. Samuel served in the confederate army during the Civil War. Children of Samuel and Margaret were:
William Edwin Liddell, Grace Ruth Liddell, Samuel Charles Liddell, Robert Franklin Liddell, John Walter Liddell, Ellis Lafayette Liddell, Lucy Maud Liddell, Joseph Pulitzer Liddell, and Emma Ethel Adaline Liddell.
John Walter Liddell was my grandfather.
Samuel W. Liddell and his wife also lived in the following counties:
St. Francis, Poinsett, Lawrence and Craighead
I have come across several other Liddell's in Greene County and am sure there is a connection somehow, possibly brother's or cousins.
Am also trying to research a Moses Lafayette Liddell in Alabama as a possible connection. I do know that Samuel was in the household of a Robert W. Liddell in Lauderdale Co., Mississippi in the 1850 census as a boarder.
Would love to hear from anyone with connection to any of the people mentioned above. I do have additional info to share.
