Gayla,
Our "cousin" in Hot Springs MIGHT be able to identify some of the photos.I would love to see them also.Do you have a scanner? If so email them to me and I will make copies and send them to him.He was very close to "Aunt Mandie".Or, if you would trust me, send them to me; I'll scan them, make copies and send you the originals back.I have done this before for others.
From "Shoemaker Pioneers" by Benjamin H. Shoemaker III,our lineage is as follows:
Rudolph Schumacherb. ca 1693
Jacob Schumacher/Shoemaker b. 1731 Germany
George Shoemaker Sr. b. Loudoun County VA USA
George Shoemaker Jr. b. Loudoun County VA
George W. Shoemaker b. Loudoun County VA
Issue:Louis Monroe Shoemaker b. 1861 Illinois
George Nelson Shoemaker b. 1863 Illinois
William Shoemaker b. 1865 Illinois d. bef 1880
Margaret Ann Shoemaker b. 1871 MO
Amanda Jane Shoemaker b. 1873 MO
Arthur Clinton Shoemaker b. 1879 MO
I am descended through Louis Monroe Shoemaker. He is my g grandfather.
Margaret and Amanda Jane both married Richardsons.I believe Uncle and nephew or something like that.We just last weekend found Margaret's grave at Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs.A descendant of Arthur Clinton and I have been researching together, as much as possible long distance, for a few years.I went to AR a couple years ago to meet her in person. She lives in Pine Bluff. I am in contact with another "cousin", g grandaughter of Margaret Ann Shoemaker/Richardson, who lives in Hugo OK. She's 89 years young. Also I've made contact with a descendant of George Nelson Shoemaker who lives in Conway AR.He's in his 80s as well. The other cousin I spoke of who was close to Aunt Mandie is about 89 as well.I try to keep in touch with these folks when I can. They won't be here much longer I suspect.
You may email me privately if you like: [email protected]
I would love to have copies of the pics you wrote about.Let me know what the possibilities are for copying them.
Karen.
