I have a family story - just proven that George Wells age, age 28 Married Coley Bell , daughter of Ashley McClure Bell and Mary Carter Bolling 15 March 1899. She died 18 May 1900. 21 April 1903 he married Coley's sister Mattie. Mattie died September of the same year. Does anyone know what happened to George after that? Family lore has it that he offered for my great-aunt Famnny Bell, niece of Ashley and that she the good sense to refuse.
