I am researching the people in the area around Resaca just South and West along a two-mile stretch of the Oostanual River from bout 1832-1920
One family of interest is that of Dr. Berry W. Gideon's, one of his many daughters
(Cleo M.) married into the Fite family of Resaca.
Thalia maried into the Cox family of Resaca
it is thought that his son Gilade J.B. Gideon he was married to Maragaret E. Mobley, he moved to Arkanas sometime during the period of the Civil War.
Dr. Gideon lived just south of Resaca near the railroad he passed away in 1884.
Cleo and many other Gideon descendants are buried in the family cemetery about one mile from my home.
If anyone has more information on these families I would appreciate hearing more.
