Dana,
Island 40 is in Crittenden County AR. It is the first island north of the I 40 bridge over the Mississippi River at Memphis. There is driving access to the island at low river stage.

Dana I recently tried to E mail you direct but couldn't get it to go through. I have been working on the Caldwell family for several years. In North Mississippi there are many Caldwell, Cox, and Speck family connections. I see from some of your old messages on the forum that you are a descendant of William Levi Cox and Nancy Elizabeth Roberts and I am connected to that family on Nancy's side of the family. Nancy was the daughter of Moses Young Roberts and Mary Jane Caldwell.

Also william Levi's brother david Roland Cox was married to ( I think ) Margaret Caldwell. Some information that I have found says her name was Margaret Palmer. If she was a Caldwell do you happen to know who her parents were.

Another family connection is Nancy "Nannie" Speck, daughter of William Pinkney Speck and Martha Susan Caldwell, was married to Eli Franklin Cox, son of David Roland Cox and Margaret Caldwell.

I have quite a lot of information on the family of Robert Caldwell who arrived in Charleston SC in Dec 1772 from Antrim in Northern Ireland. Of course I have many gaps and questions that I'm hoping you can help me with. I would love to swap information with you on our related families. Please contact me when you can.

Thanks,
Rudy Caldwell
