The 1880 Crittenden County (Jackson Township) pg 66 lists an Allen Powell (38)
Sophronie (33)
Laura (6)
Robert (4)
Thomas (3)
Charles 10/12
William Reed (20)

The above family lived next door to William Powell (23) and family.

There seems to be some relationship between the Powells and my family the Hardins. They also lived nearby in 1880, 1900, and 1910.
In fact my gg grandmother Mattie E. Guy(18) was a border with the Robert Powell family in the 1910 census. She would soon marry Fitzhugh Hardin(20) who lived next door to the Amos Powell(55) family. It is believed that this was predominantly a farming community and there were many workers/share croppers required for the arduous labor.

Good Luck,

Tim Nichols
