Nancy, I’m not from this area, but I am currently researching relatives that lived in and around Craighead County. The area from Greene County to St. Francis County spans a large area... Not sure how far you plan to travel, but here are some suggestions that might help you plan your trip: The Jonesboro Library Craighead County, AR www.libraryinjonesboro.org They are home to the Elizabeth Malone for Arkansas & Genealogy Research. You can get a good idea of the material they have from their website. The Genealogy Society of Craighead County (www.gscca.net) has a great website that includes marriage record transcriptions, obituary indexes, etc. The Forrest City Library St. Francis County, AR www.forrestcitylibrary.org They are home to the Annie B. Proctor Arkansas Room. According to their website, they have extensive genealogical materials. Since your Adair relatives died in/near Colt, there’s probably a good chance of locating obituaries here. They may also have cemetery books to consult. Cross County Library Wynne, AR (just north of Colt) www.crosscountylibrary.org There is no mention of a genealogy room on their website. A quick search of their online catalog shows they have newspapers dating back to the early 1900’s and cemetery transcription books. Greene County Library Paragould, Green County, AR www.greenecountylibrary.com They don’t have much on their website, but do have a searchable online catalog. I hope this has been useful. Have a great time researching! :-) Notify Administrator about this message?
