Louise--Sorry to be so late in responding; I don't check this board very often. There was indeed a man named Charlie Simmons living in the area. In my research notes I have entries for him in 1928, 1931, and 1945. The information relates to medical issues, barter, etc. The 1945 event includes a grandson named Marvin Coble. I also have a reference to Leonard Simmons. Let me know if you'd like to read these very brief anecdotes and I'll send them.
