Thanks for your reply. I have had an interlude of sadness in that my mother unexpectedly passed away just before Thanksgiving. This is her family I am researching.

If your name is Young--aren't you kin to the Youngs who married into the Harper family? Norbern Young married my ggg grandmother's 1st cousin, Elizabeth Harper. She attended a girl's school there in Arkansas and her speech as the valedictorian is still on record. She supposedly named the town of Magnolia....

In regard to the Paschal's, I believe they have been connected just by place for a long time to the Harper or the Miller families. I think they were in MS earlier and before that in GA. I would appreciate any ways you can connect this family.

It seems that the Harpers intermarried with cousins (even first cousins) all the time. I am trying to find out who Robert G. Harper's parents were. My leads take me back to MS, GA and ? I even think that Robert's brother married his wife's mother (her second husband) in TN. If you can shed any light on anything here, please let me know.

I should also point out that these people were not trash--they were educated, could read and write, and had $ even though they tended to intermarry.

Thanks again,
Liz Holt
