I am not sure if this is any help - but about 1869 in Van Buren co Arkansas (later some of it would be Cleburne Co) a Nancy Caroline Hunt married a Thomas Newton Simpkins who was born 1848 in VBC AR.

I have this because of half brother to Thomas Newton Simpkins was a Jacob Simpkins b 1830 Green Co Indiana who married my Martha Hawkins Simpkins Hopson.....

So apparently a Hunt family was in the VBC AR area by 1869....I don't know where they came from but might connect to yours.

Much later a Hunt family in the Eglantine area - so they had not really moved much.
