Bob
I live in Texas now and I don't know if this will help any. Corning was one of the two Clay Co. Seats. The other was in Piggott AR. and the two towns are about 26 miles apart. I don't of your relative, but I went to school in the 1960's with a Charlette Hicks from Pollard AR which is between Corning and Piggott. There was a large family of Hicks in and around that area. I don't know the names of all the cemeteries in that area. There is a person by the name of Delaney Acorn-Jones on this Clay Co. Forum who has a list of Clay Co. Cemeteries & Marriages. Mayby you can post a message directly to her. Also there was some Hicks that lived in and around the Greenway AR., Clay Co. area. Do you know if your Hicks relative had a relative by the name of: Mary Hicks-Reed? Also, Charles Pollard is the County Clerk in Clay Co.and you might try writing him at the Clay County House in Piggott AR, 72454. I said Piggott because that is where I was raised & the address I know the Zip Code for. I'm not to sure if I helped any, but I wanted to try to help. This Mary Hicks- Reed was a young woman or teenager during the very early 1920's.
Good luck & let me know if I helped any or you know of Mary Hicks-Reed.
Thanks,
Mary Sootoo
