Hi,

On the census rolls the states listed after the names mean, in order, person's birth place, father's birth place, mother's birth place. The MO, IL, etc. is using the current post office state abbreviations, not necessarily how it was actually written on the census. The 1yo just means 1 year old.

The relationship given is usually written as how that person relates to the head of household. Grandson could be written even though his parents also lived in the household.
