Newspapers in Clay County late 1800's

Trying to find info on Elijah Ewing, born 1848 in IL, died in either late 1897 or sometime before August 1898 in Piggott, Arkansas. I'm not sure if he was visiting or living there at the time. I do know that the location had something to do with a rice farm. Can anyone give me some leads on how to pursue this? The only thing I was told is that he was buried on a hill (I am supposing this is a cemtery!) Not much to go on... thanks!
