Glenda, I just happened to run across an obit of 8/8/2000 in the Jonesboro, AR Sun newspaper on a Willis. Re: Death of Edward "Sally" Wilis, 70, of Osceola, died Thursday at Baptist Hospital in Osceola. (App. 40 miles from Marked Tree). He was born in Hope, AR. (Southern part of AR). Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Corine Willis of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Joann Hister of Osceola, and Rosie Lee Cullins of Hope, three brothers, Charles Willis of Burdette, and Sampson Willis and Tommy Willis, both of Hope. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 1 Saturday afternoon at the wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will follow in Whiteside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.

(Thought this might be of some interest or maybe even contain clues.)
