Sims, Simms, Boatright, Boatwright, Laffoon in Carroll/Boone County Arkansas

Here is what is known:
There was a SIMMS family listed in the 1850 Census of Jefferson Township, Carroll County, Arkansas (now part of Boone County) with Elizabeth Simms as head of the household:
Elizabeth Simms 50 F NC
Martin B. Simms 24 M Farmer TN
John F. Simms 20 M Farmer TN
Mary A. Simms 18 F TN
Nancy C. Carroll 27 F TN
Matthew A.A. Carroll 3 M TN
Eliza J. Carroll 1 F TN
It is possible that the father’s name was Matthew and that he had died by this time. It is also possible that Elizabeth’s maiden name was Boatright. It is also presume that Nancy C. Carroll was a daughter who had married a Mr. Carroll and had the two children listed in the census.
Also listed in the same Census is another SIMMS family which could have been another son of the above mentioned Simms. This family is as follows:
Heneger Simms 29 M Farmer 800 TN
Polly Simms 24 F TN
Margaret T. Simms 8 F TN
George W. Simms 6 M TN
William A. Simms 3 M TN
Patrick A. Simms 1 M TN
There is another family with some SIMMS children in the same census and in the same township:
William Hutcheson 31 M Farmer Unknown
Elizabeth Hutcheson 27 F TN
Marcellus Simms 7 M AR
Lucinda C. Simms 5 F AR
John L. Simms 3 M AR
Sarah Ann Hutcheson 2/12 F AR
Elizabeth Hutcheson was married to George Keiser Sims, who died in 1848. She remarried William Hutcheson.
Here is where I come in:
My Great Great Grandfather William Samford "Rufus" Laffoon married Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Boatright Simms (with spelling variations). Family history says they married in Giles County, Tennessee in about 1844. Sarah is from Tennessee. William is from Kentucky.

The William S. and Sarah Laffoon family is living a short distance from the Heneger Simms family in Carroll County, Arkansas in 1850. Simms is household 659 and William S. and Sarah Laffoon are household 666.
Interestingly, Flavius Terry Laffoon (William Samford Laffoon’s brother) married Juda Thomas. The Thomas family is living next to the Elizabeth Simms household on this Census.

Sarah was b. 2 Oct 1823, d. 10 Oct 1906 and is buried in Bellefonte Cemetery, Bellefonte, Boone, Arkansas next to her youngest son George Martin Laffoon and his family.
Here is what I am looking for:
I can’t find any connection between Sarah Elizabeth Boatright Simms and any known Boatright or Simms families.
I have no idea who Sarah’s parents were. I am seeking a connection between Sarah Elizabeth Boatright Simms and these or any other known Simms families. The nearness of these above mentioned Simms families makes a relationship seem likely.
I would also like to know where the Boatright name comes from. Could she have been a daughter of Elizabeth Boatright (previous marriage or illegitimate) and adopted by Mr. Simms?
Any help would be appreciated.
