Hi Paula;

My wife is also a descendant of John and Rebecca Anderson; but I do NOT think that John Anderson and Rebecca Quillen are the same as ours unless Rebecca was a widow when she married John Anderson. I believe that Rebecca was a daughter of George and Elizabeth Walters of Boone county, Indiana(as was Mary "Polly" Davis; wife of Henry Davis). This would make George W. Davis and his first wife Mary Ann "Polly" Anderson 1st cousins. That might be part of the explanation (besides the grandchildren) as to why John Anderson was a member of the George Davis household in Kansas in 1875 even after Mary Ann had died and George Davis had remarried. Maybe it was because John Anderson was also George Davis's uncle.
The executors of the George Walters estate in Boone county< Indiana can all be identified as either sons or sons-in-law of George Walters...except John Anderson who was also an executor of the estate. And George and Elizabeth Walters definitely had a daughter Rebecca; but none of the daughters in the estate are given a surname as to who they married. The marriage records have all been found except the Anderson marriage. Since Rebecca Anderson was born around 1804 she would have been around 23 in 1827
so I wonder if Rebecca Walters married a Quillen who died and she then married John Anderson? I saw somewhere years ago in one of the early census (either 1850 or 1860) for Boone county Indiana where an unidentified Anderson girl was in the household of either John and Rebecca Anderson or maybe in the household of one of the Davis families in Boone county. I may even have a transcript of the Census record; but I would have to dig it out of my files.
I hope to hear from you sometime. maybe we can trade notes.
Carl Martin
