As you know Tucker M. Phillips (1879) was the son of George W. Phillips (1834). More research needs to be done to establish the father of George W. Phillips, but there is some evidence that suggests his father may have been George Washington Phillips (1804).

1) George Washington Phillips (1804) had a son listed with him in the 1850 census named George Phillips who was born about 1834 in Tennessee.

2) George Washington Phillips (1804) died in Osage, Carroll County, Arkansas in 1864. George W. Phillips (1834) died in Carroll County, Arkansas in 1880.

3) A number of George Washington Phillips' (1804) brothers and sisters also has stories of a Cherokee heritage.
