Searching for parents of my g-g-grandfather, Asher WALKER b. Nov. 25, 1829 in Calhoun Co., AR. Asher married Nancy Ann JOHNSON June 20, 1849. They had 5 children in Calhoun Co. before moving to TX in the 1860's, where they had 3 more children. The Walkers moved often after that, usually along the Red River. Family tradition has it that Asher worked on the railroad, hence the moves. Nancy Ann was the daughter of John JOHNSON and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. I have found land records for Walkers in Calhoun Co., but do not know which Walker was the father of Asher, and none had land grants before Asher's birth in 1829. Any help would be appreciated! Willing to share what I have.
