My great grandfather lived in Calhoun County at Locust Bayou. As far as I know his name was William Taylor Hollis and was often referred to as Uncle Billy or just Billy. Recently I saw where his name appeared as William Tanner Hollis. Does anyone know where the Tanner could have come from. Was it a nickname? He lived (1848-1941)
