We have recently, through DNA, proved that the John M. and Phebe (Manard) ROORK family are descendants of the immigrant, Thomas ROORK of Ireland. Thomas ROORK, Sr. had at least two known sons, Samuel Thomas ROORK and Thomas ROORK, Jr.. Samuel Thomas Roork married Tabitha Sarah PHILLIPS in Blount County, TN in 1816 and they had eight known children, one of which is John M. ROORK. John M. ROORK was born in TN and moved to Carroll County, Arkansas in about 1850. John and Phebe ROORK had eleven children. The last six children were born in Carroll County (now Boone), Arkansas, they were:
Samuel Thomas ROORK b 4 Aug 1851, m.Amanda Melvina MOULDER
William H. ROORK b 1853
John G. ROORK b abt 1854
Mary Ann ROORK b May 1857, m. Henry C. SUMMERS
Lysander Cooper ROORK b 29 Jul 1859, m. Matila Ann SINK
Jefferson Davis ROORK b 11 Nov 1861, m. Sarah F. DABBS
