George Creager & Margaret Myers--died in AR or TX?
Posted by: Susan Ellerbee (ID *****0382) Date: September 18, 2011 at 10:23:17
  of 1274

Can anyone confirm place of death and burial for George (aka 'John George') Creager (b. 1771, MD; d. abt 1845) & wife, Margaret Ann 'Peggy' Myers (b. abt 1777, KY; d. after 1840)? Online family trees and message boards are about evenly divided between Benton County, AR and Red River County, TX. Last known location: 1840 in Mountain, Benton County, AR per census. One researcher said that George 'paid taxes in Red River County, TX' but no sources were given in that message. Both George & Margaret probably died between 1840 and 1850.

Married March 1798 in Washington County, KY. Had 6 children: Sarah (m. Joseph Holcomb), George Lewis (m. Jane L. Cowan), Wyatt Hester or Hester Wyatt (m. Sarah ???) , Jacob, William Sawyer (m. Bexie McKinney) & John. Sarah & her husband are buried in Cherokee County, TX. Son, George is buried in Benton County, AR. William lived & is buried in Grayson County, TX.
