Thank you for your reply. From census records, the Thomas J. Smith that I am researching was born Dec 1850 in Missouri, his daughter Bertha Smith was born Jan 6, 1891 in Ellington, Reynolds Co, Mo and married William Segal Haney. Not sure when the Smith family moved to Baxter Co, AR. Incidentally, If you have extensive Smith information, I am researching another ancestor, Manerva Jane Smith, born October 1841 in Arkansas, married John McGinness in 1862 in Arkansas. Cannot figure out Manerva's parents. Any info would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks. Joyce Havner
