Dorothy: you can ask Mr Neal Robertson about The Bringles. He has some information also. continued from last message: GPHS is the Grand Prairie Historical Society Letter. It can be found in libraries. My great-uncle Phil Harris had gone to Arkansas in the 80s to visit. he was Julian Harris' son. Other articles in the GPHS bulletin that might interest you would be the one on the Gimlichen Family. That was the first family that the Bringles are related to that first arrived in Arkansas. The Harris' arrived from Georgia. they settled in Conway County, Arkansas.Timothy Harris was the patriarch, they settled at or near Cadron, Ar in the 1820s. Elisha Cannon Harris was one of his sons. his 1st wife was Elizabeth. They had two sons, Jackson C. and Lemuel I. Harris. Jackson Married a Mary Henderson in Conway County, but she must have died, because he married Lavinah Bringle in 1848. His brother Lemuel, married an Evaline Peeler in 1850s. The Bringles settled at Arkansas post in 1780s around the time that the spanish had the territory. Actually there was one Bringle, a Christian Pringle, from Hagerstown, Maryland. He married a Mary Magdalene Gimlichen in New Orleans in the 1770s, and started a family at the Post. Mary Gimlichen's parents were Franz Gimlichen and Marie Kasin. they were germans. Their son, John Bringle, married a Mary Jones in 1824. They moved to DeWitt, and raised their family there. You need to ask about a Dorothy Jones Core. She had researched and studied the Pringles and also early Arkansas Post families. Arkansas County has a rich history. I Can help with any questions- Paul White Notify Administrator about this message?
