Hi Neal, thanks for the response. I found Abner's death listed in ARK Death Index:

Arkansas Death Index, 1914-1950
Name: Abner Bevard
Death Day: 29 Death Month: Apr Death Year: 1938
County: Arkansas Roll Number: 19341940 Page Number: 248

He is also in the 1930 census there with a second wife and two step children.

He may be either buried in ARK in an unmarked grave or back in Pike Co in an unmarked grave next to his first wife, Sallie Howell. thanks for your help.
