I need help with new leads! I have worked from my Watson line back to William Watson who was born in NC around 1790 (census)and died in Randolph Co., AR 1847. Based on the following information I have researched much of William's activities in AR. However, he died in Randolph and many of his kids were in Arkansas Co., AR. Wm. shows up in AR as early as 1830. On census, all of these children list birthplace as SC. This means I don't know where they were from about 1813-1830. I do not know who he was married or where he was from in NC or SC. and would love help!! From the book Arkansas Records Book 1 GEN. 976.7 m848 From: Will and Administrations of Randolph County, Arkansas 1845-1852 Wattson, William died Nov. 11, 1847: LA, James Isaacs of Ripley Co., MO., Nov. 1847: heirs: Willis, Thomas, John, Ansel, Jacob, Elizabeth, Polly, Marian: heirs of James Isaacs: part of Ark., others in Texas I have proof that John and Thomas went to Texas in 1836 and fought for the Republic of Texas and received land bounties in Cherokee County. He returned and married in Arkansas County to Eliza Rhodes(Tacket)from Ill.in 1839. Many of the Watson married Rhodes from IL. Sometime between 1846 and 1847 many of this group settled in Cherokee County (John, Jacob, Marion Watson Isaac, and possibly Ansel)Marriages indicate that spouses were from MO, GA and TN) Other given names in this group are Sarah, Jesse, Newman, Arah. Other surnames associated with this group are Newman, Isaacs/Isacks, and possibly Adair. I have more information but it is so scattered I can't make connections. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who might feel they are connected. I have researched but do not have enough information to confirm any connections. Please help.
