Hello.I am looking for info on my great grandfather (William M Paxton).He was born about 1870 in Yellville,Ark.His father was (William Jasper Paxton) and his father was (William Mordecai Paxton).My grandfather was (William Carl Paxton also known as Kenneth Paxton).He was born in September 1910 in Missouri.His father William M Paxton was also called( Amos )in the Missouri logging camps.I believe perhaps M may have stood for Moses, after William Jasper Paxtons brother Moses Paxton and that everyone thought that William said his name was William Amos instead of William Moses?I know that William M worked in a logging camp in Missouri and I have a photo of him at the camp and a photo of him when he was married to my great grandmother Lula.He married my great grandmother Lula Barrett in 1906 when she was 12 years old.My grandfather William(Kenneth)Paxton was born in 1910. I understand that William M Paxton had been married several times and that he had 4 children living in Oklahoma.My grandfather William Carl(Kenneth)Paxton always said that he believed that he had a lot of step brothers and sisters somewhere.Since he was never around his father,William M Paxton,he didn't know too much about his fathers side.Great grandmother Luby said that William M Paxton had some older children or sisters and that they wanted my great grandmother Lula to name my grandfather William Paxton.She liked the name Kenneth, so she called him Kenneth,but his name on his birth certificate is William Carl Paxton and William Paxton is listed as his father.One of William Carl Paxtons step-sisters said that her mother Lula had said that the Indians had came and took Williams father, William M Paxton away.Great grandmother Lula had a long braid of hair that was tied with a red ribbon,which had belonged to her husband William.Apparently,he had cut it off so that he could get a job logging. I believe,that (William M Paxton),in(about 1911-1912) returned to Oklahoma to take care of his 4 children when their mother died.My great grandmother Lula(Barrett)Paxton then remarried in 1912 taking William Carl(Kenneth)Paxton with her(he was about 1 year old).Can someone tell me if Elizabeth Nesbitt is William M Paxtons mother? or is it Mary Madewell? Also I know that both William Jasper Paxton and William M Paxton are buried in Haskell County,Muskogee,Oklahoma? Can someone tell me the name of the cemetary?I would like to visit it.For years my grandfather William tried to find his father,but didn't know that he was right here in Oklahoma also.He has passed,but I would like to write down everything so that it can be kept for the familys future reference. I hope that someone can help me with filling in the blanks.Thanks,Cheryl
