Robert Black - Scotland to Arkansas

Can anyone help with a Robert Black who migrated to Arkansas from Central Scotland prior to the civil war. He served in the war and held many public offices. Robert had many sons and daughters which means there must be some decendants still alive.
Any information will be greatly appreciated as I presently have over 500 "Blacks" in my database of decendants of James Black from Calla, Carnwath who had a son William who married a Mary Tod. I am a fifth great grandson of William and Mary. Robert is a ??great grand uncle.
