Re: Elizabeth McClain of Washington County, PA

My search has led me to Pope County, Arkansas in search of Elizabeth McClain, wife of Josiah Clark of Washington County, PA.

Josiah and his wife, Elizabeth, sold land in Washington County, PA in 1837. The land was inherited from his father, Aaron Clark, also of Washington County, PA. Aaron Clark was born in NJ. His father, Abraham Clark, was one of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence of Rahway, NJ.

Josiah and Elizabeth migrated to the new state of Arkansas during it's intitial statehood and built a mill there (about 1829). Josiah died in 1841 at 56 years of age. He is buried at the Brock Cemetery in Pope County. Elizabeth is buried beside him but the date of her death is not known.

I'm interested in receiving information on Elizabeth McClain. If anybody is researching this name I would appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks,

Joyce
