Thank you! That is NOT out of the range of possibilities. Any idea how I can trace the man who received the patent in 1892? His name was James Hamler. How would I find out if he sold it, or maybe lost it and simply moved on, did he die? Was he married? What about family, siblings, etc. I know that type of info wouldn't be on land records, but did the counties have yearly census records? Thanks again,
