Looking for information on a workfarm or orphange located in the Stuttgart, Ark. area around 1890-1900s. My grandfather immigrated from Germany to the U.S. in 1891 as a 14-year-old orphan. He listed his destination as Stuttgart, Arkansas. Would appreciate any information about such a place where orphans might have been placed or put to work.
