appling,ga is in columbia county ,ga. it was
the county seat named after john appling.
appling county, ga was named afer col. daniel appling,war hero of 1812. daniel was johns
son, daniel died in 1816 at fort mims, ala.
and is buried there. i cannot make a connection between any applings in new york
and ga., but there were three brothers who came from england and i can only account for
one brother at this time. i can be reached
