Augustus A. APPLING b. 10 Jan 1828 GA, d. 18 Aug 1907 Beeville, Bee Co., TX, bd. Stockdale Cemetery, Stockdale, Wilson Co., TX was my wife's GGG uncle. Augustus was married 17 Dec 1846 in Tuscaloosa Co., AL to Martha E. STANLEY b. 1835 AL, d. bet. 1880/1890 Wilson Co., TX.
After Martha died, Augustus was married abt. 1890 to Sarah E. SIMPSON. SIMPSON was Sarah's married name.
Augustus APPLING's parents were John APPLING b. abt. 1798/1800 GA, d. aft. 1840 Wilkes Co., GA & Mary (Polly) McELROY b. 1800 GA, d. 1840. John & Mary were married 9 Feb 1821 in Wilkes Co., GA.
Mary McELROY's parents were William McELROY Sr. b. 1770 & Mary ARNOLD b. 1785. William & Mary were married 14 Jan 1801 in Oglethorpe Co., GA.
