I believe the wife of William Milton APPLING to be Nancy Matilda MARTIN, born about 1844, daughter of William J. MARTIN and his wife, Letty PRUITT. I cannot find Wm. Milton Appling, Nancy, nor their son, Walton, in the 1880 census anywhere in GA, nor do I find them in the 1890 Tax Digest for Gwinnett County, GA (substitute for lost 1890 Federal Census). I have a land deed date in 1893 that says F. F. Appling is the "heir to (former) Nancy Martin, deceased" property, which doesn't make since since he is not her husband, but her brother in law,unless she also has a child by these initials. Do you know if F. F. raised William Milton & Nancy Matilda Appling's son, Walton? I cannot find them buried in Gwinnett or Barrow County. .Do you have any idea to where they moved or how they died? Did lil Walton live to grow up, perhaps raised by another Appling family? I just know Nancy died before 1893 but nothing more. Thank you for your time and energy; it is greatly appreciated.
