Bob, I have long researched the APPLINGs
of Arkansas, specifically the SEABORN APPLING family whose family Bible is in my
possession.
Seaborn J.Appling, b 1802 Wilkes Co.,GA, s/o Thomas C. Appling & his wf, Nancy BAKER. Seaborn married Elizabeth "Betsy"
HOLLOWAY 8Dec 1825 Tuscaloosa Co.,AL.He is
found in 1830 & 1840c Tuscaloosa Co. By 1850-1860c is in White Oak Twsp.,Jefferson Co.,AR. 1870c is in Madison Twsp, Grant Co. AR. He died Grant Co. 29Mar 1874. Wf d
17July 1892 Grant Co.
If your William Appling was bca 1880's, this information is early for him, but I would imagine that he can be traced back
to Seaborn J.Appling with a little work...
Happy to share with you. Have a list of all Seaborn's children that could possibly help. Let me know...
Gay Twyman Kennedy
