in answer to your question i have the following info:john appling,son of thomas appling(1687-1743) and wife mary clements (clemmons)
john appling ca 1732-1775 died amelia county
virginia. married martha crubbs. after johns death martha moved with the children to columbia county, ga.
children:
john appling,jr: born in amelia county, virginia was a member of the house of representatives of ga. married rebecca carter

this doesn't match exactly to yours but i think it is the same family. the info i have is that several of the applings moved to columbia and wilkes county,ga. at the same time. i have an old family history that was written about 1975. i would be glad to give you what ever help i can. my mailing address is 2566 elizabeth pl, macon,ga 31204 (912)
