I do not know anything about Harry Applin but I thought you might be interested to know that I was born in Blandford Forum in 1952. My father was Herbert (Jim) George Applin born in 1908 in Southbourne where he was brought up. His father was John Applin who had two other sons; Tom and another whose name escapes me. My father and grandfather were general traders especially in horses. They owned a farm in the 1930s and 1940s called Ash Farm between Blandford and Stourpaine. Could Harry and John have been brothers?
