I am looking for information regarding Jacob Applegate, my great-great grandfather. His son (my great grandfather) was Elmer Applegate (b. 1855). I found him in the 1900 Census in Toledo. His son (my grandfather) was Thomas Earl Applegate Sr. (b. 1885 d. 1964).
I am trying to find the parents of Jacob. I have heard the story of Thomas Applegate, who came to Massachusetts in 1834 from my father, who heard it from his father, who heard it from his father, etc. I am attempting to establish a link back to the first Thomas, but I run into a road block with Jacob's parents.
Does this ring a bell with anyone?
