Hello, I am trying to find information on Elizabeth Applegate who married William Wickware[b. Aug. 2, 1816 in KY]. I am virtually certain she was the sister of Mark Henry Applegate of the New Orleans, LA area. M. H. Applegate was married to Lucy Campbell. They are buried in Lafayette Cemetery. I have been hoping to find Mark and Elizabeth's father who I believe may be a William Applegate. My greatest interest in Elizabeth is that I think there may have been a sister, Mary Frances [although she may have been a cousin]. Anyway, Elizabeth Applegate married William Wickware. This Mary F. married Samuel Harvey Wickware [brother of William Wickware]. Samuel Harvey and Mary named their son Mark Applegate Wickware...so I took a leap of faith that in keeping with naming patterns perhaps Mary F. was originally an Applegate! So, when I started hunting the Applegates, I found this Mark H. Applegate. In hunting for his info, I found he served in the Crescent Regiment during the Civil War and that is also the regiment Samuel Harvey Wickware served in as well [ Samuel Harvey was a wagoner with the regiment]. Any help would be appreciated. Mark Henry Applegate and Lucy Campbell Applegate had 4 children; 1)Marguerite Elizabeth b. 12/03/1869 2)Lucy Blanche b. 6/24/1872, she married Horace F. Foster Oct. 5, 1891 in New Orleans. 3)William Edward b. 12/28/1867 4)Mark H., Jr. b. 5/6/1874..d. 8/12/1874 Lucy Campbell Applegate died 14 May, 1874 only 8 days after the birth of Mark H. Applegate, Jr. This is beginning to ramble so I shall stop here... Jan Hart Notify Administrator about this message?
