I'm from Hyde Park, New York and have never met a single other person with the name Applegarth, except for siblings. Until I came to college and looked on the computer I wondered if there were any others and am quit amazed. I know that I am the grand-daughter of Gault Applegarth who married Dorthy Coons and they were divorced(reason for lack of info). He may of been born between 1910-20 and died I think around 1987. Does anyone know the names of his parents or grandparents? I don't know if he was born in New york, but he may have died in Poughkeepsie NY.
