I doubt there is any connection but my line of Appleby's goes back to Thomas Appleby (1740 - 1790) in Maryland - probably Montgomery or Anne Arundel county. I don't know where they came from before this but I believe he was Irish or Scotch-Irish. If you are aware of a connection I would be most interested.
