Hi, I'm descended from Robert Appleby, born around 1790-1800, place unknown. Wife unknown. He was one of the earliest settlers of Missouri. His son Charles was born in MO abt 1823 so he was there by 1823. Charles married Rebecca, b abt 1823-1828 in North Carolina. Think they may have been around the Poplar Bluff area as my grandmother was born there.

Their daughter Mary Anne Appleby was born 14 Nov 1848, MO, and married John Wesley Freer by 1873. Their son Charles Albert Freer was born in Poplar Bluff in 1874, married Georgia Meredith Sparkman 1902, two daughters. One was Avice Meredith Freer, 1906 - 1927 (my grandmother), the other Eleanor Iris Freer, b abt 1914. After that they moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Avice married Rex Shobert in 1926.

Any info on the Applebys would be of great help as that is one of the blank spots in my family tree!
