After all these years I have finally decided to take the plunge! I was born Carolyn Appleby on July 12, 1945 in Homestead, FL. My father's name was James M. (Melvin) Appleby and my paternal grandparents lived in Uniontown, PA. My great grandmother lived in Pittsburgh, PA and her name was Fannie Appleby Smith. According to a bible given to me, she was born in Scotland and named Fannie Hill. I believe my paternal grandfather's name was Albert. My parents divorced when I was only 4 and I have had no contact with my father or his family since I was 12 years old. Do any of these names mean anything to anyone?
