Appleby / Sheppard -1840- Co Wicklow Ire

We believe our ancestors arrived in Canada (Ottawa Valley-Lanark Co.) from Co. Wicklow, Ireland in about 1833-41 (some difference of opinion in the date(s) of emigration). John Sheppard was married to Mary Appleby, second wife. (Previously married to Anna Price in Co Wicklow).

Apparently several Sheppard brothers (John, David, William, Benjamin and ? William) and Appleby siblings (Mary, Elizabeth(Bess), Ann, and Sarah, ?plus one brother, Thomas) may have emigrated together. Other names that may have been on the ship are Oates, Jackson, and Ebbs...all men married to the Appleby sisters.

Can anyone help us with some Irish detail on these families? We are trying to establish a toehold onto the Ireland coast.

Thank you.
Ian Sheppard
