Immigrants to America Before 1750 by Frederick A. Virkus states that "Appleby, John (b. Ireland-d. Dublin Twp, Huntingdon co., Pa after 1808) came from Ire. to Pa., with wife and bros. Williamand Alexander, before Am. Rev.; the bros settled in Ga., but made frequent visits in horseback, to John in Shippensburg, and later at his home in Huntingdon Co.; they left descendants, one of whom, John B. Appleby, lived at Centralia Ill., after the Civil War." It goes on with information about the children of John Appleby of Huntingdon County, PA.
