Hello Lois
Lucy Jane Apperson Corley was my greataunt. She was the daughter of William W. Apperson and Elizabeth Jane Harris Apperson. Aunt Lucy was born April 15, 1839 in Hanover County, VA and died July 5, 1912. She married Henry Middleton Corley on April 9, 1871. Aunt Lucy is buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Waverly, Wood County, West Virginia.
Would you believe that I just received an e-mail from my niece, Dixie Lee Jones, and she told me that she had a picture of my grandfather, Lucy's brother, Hugh Thomas Apperson, and Lucy. If you will send me your e-mail address, and if Dixie Lee sends me a copy of the picture, I will send it on to you.
My father was Avon Apperson, son of Hugh Thomas Apperson. We lived in Barbour County near Philippi. I married William Correll from Somerset, KY, and we have lived in Somerset for almost 50 years now. We will be married 50 years in October of this year.
Let me know if you get this information. I do have a list of all Lucy's brothers and sisters.
